My Skinny Inspiration

Just thought I would share with you some of my inspiration pics that I use to motivate myself. I think Lady Gaga is the right kind of skinny. She has not 1lb of fat on her yet she has kept her curves.

Weekend Summary

Hello everybody,

Cant believe it is Sunday again already- hope you have all had a lovely weekend. On Friday me and Tom went out for dinner for the first time in ages, we have been out with others but never by ourselves since a few weeks before Rosie appeared. We were going to go to the Dundee Duncan of Jordanson Degree show but then had a rethink as it was the opening night and it would have been packed so probably wouldn't have got near the exhibits. So we decided to hop on the train to Edinburgh instead and ended up at the Hard Rock Cafe. This really put my new eating regime to the test! I managed to restrain myself to only one Hurricane cocktail and shared nacho's to start. Now this was a bit of a mistake as the portion size was huge! I could have happily just left it at that but obviously the main's were already ordered. Luckily I had ordered the Cobb salad so it was not so bad. For those of you that have never been the salad was unreal. I normally hate ordering salad when I am out but it was gorgeous. Again the portion size was huge, I ate half of it and got the rest boxed up to take home ( another advantage of ordering a salad). We were so stuffed that the idea of dessert made me feel a bit sick.

We had planned to go for a couple of drinks after but we were both shattered, due to a sleepless, teething 6 month year old so just headed back to my parents where we spent the night.

Here is a lovely picture of that amazing salad:

Yesterday we had planned on going for an epic 7 mile walk but the weather was totally rubbish so we ended up doing pretty much nothing which was annoying. Here is a little look at what my food diary looked like.

B- missed
L - Tuna and basil pasta
S - milky way and banana muffin
D - Home made ham and mushroom pizza with salad followed by strawberries and low fat cream
S - a teeny bit lindt

Exercise - 300 ab work out

I wasnt exactly happy with yesterdays food plan. I skipped breakfast which was a major flaw, only had a small lunch and then it was ages till dinner times so literally inhaled the milky way and muffin as I was cooking! Points wise it turned out not bad though. Still not drinking enough water though. Its not that I don't like it, its just I forget. Has any one invested in one of those hydro coach things? I always look at them but think they are pretty pricey really and that I could maybe set alarms on my phone or something?

Today I have managed to push myself to go out for a run and I really enjoyed it. Now I am not a running person and also I am really really unfit so I am using the Couch to 5k app on my phone. I found that I could do all the running bits easily which was a surprise and obviously a bit of Lady Gaga blasting in my ear helped. I even managed to run in rain! Something that would normally be used as an excuse to sit on my ass instead. For those of you that are unfamiliar with couch to 5k - it is a great little app that helps build your stamina from 0 running to being able to run 5 k in 10 weeks. The aim is to do 3 runs per week but you can do more or less depending on your schedule. Here are today's stats:

Distance: 2.0mi
Walk Pace: 16.17 /mi
Run pace: 13.57 /mi
Cal: 163

Think I will alternate this with 30 day shred and some weight workouts. Also trying to do 300 ab exercises a day too. Phew!

Here is today's meal plan

B - Porridge with cinnamon
L - Green monster smoothie, toast and PB
S - Wholemeal Banana Muffin and a carrot
D - Mexican fajita rice from the girls at Where are my Knees

I have a shoot tomorrow so just spending the afternoon researching and preparing for that. Also was woken up no less that 10 times last night by Rosie. Fantastic!

Other blog

I think I may have mentioned it before but I have recently set out as a freelance Make-up Artist. I cannot explain how much I love this job and I have been given the chance to gain some fantastic experience already. My goal is for the business to grown and grown so eventually I can work at it as a full time job. Anyway for those of you that may be interested I have set up a blog dedicated to my work - Sophie Alexis Make up. Please take a look and you could even become a follower? Even if just one of you 21 lovely people do it then it would mean so much! :)

Wednesday Weight in - on a Thursday.

I wonder if I will ever be on time for anything ever again! I mentioned a couple of posts ago that I was going to do a Weekly Wednesday weigh in post.

I started back on WW last week and wasn't expecting that much as up until Monday I had not been sticking to it, but I manage to lose lb - which is alright considering the amount of food I have been eating and little exercise I have been doing.

What I was most surprised about was my measurements - and not in a good way. Since I first signed up for WW back at the end of January I have put on 2 inches round my waist and an inch on my hips! Needless to say I will be trying to get rid of these as soon as!

Here are my stats as of today:

Weight: 10lbs 8
Waist: 89cms
 Hips: 102cms
Bust: 98cms
Arms: 28cms
Thighs: 56cms
Dress size: On average a 14

I am going to get Tom to take some pics of me every couple of weeks so I can see the changes.

The main aim of these posts is to motivate me and to help others who are in the same situation so if you are currently trying to shift the pounds then comment below!

I am such a bad blogger

Title says it all really. I love writing blogs and seem to have so many ideas and inspiration but then never get down to actually typing. I blame my cumbersome old macbook for that and see it as a perfect excuse to whine on about wanting to own the new macbook air - so light and easy! But really the route of the problem is I am always to busy reading everyone else's blogs and so never have time to get round to mine.

So what's been going on in my little life over the past few weeks. Well me, Thomas and Rosie embarked on our first ever family holiday. Not abroad I am hastened to add but we had a glorious time right here in the UK and got lovely weather too. We were away for 10 days and in that time made stop off's at The Trafford Centre, Warrington, Oxford, Poole, Surrey and Newcastle! We were mainly traveling around showing Rosie off to Tom's family but it also gave me an opportunity to visit places I had never been before. Below are a few snaps of our journey.

Top to bottom: Tom, Rosie and our nephew Oliver, Classic NCL bridge shot, Tom being arty with the camera on our walk around the Devil's punch bowl, Rosie found a wee friend, Tom on Sandbank's beach, The Devil's punchbowl, Our holiday home in Sandbanks (we wish), another NCL bridge shot, Poole beach, Rosie is surprised to see a camera at the dinner table, Rosie chillin with her wayfarers, Yet another motorway, Rosie, Tom's nana and Rosies 2nd cousin - James, Classic car shot, Rosie on her first ever swing wearing her first pair of Vans.

Rosie is now 6 months old and is no longer a wee baby, she has grown her first two teeth this week. She has been brilliant with them and only has the odd wee cry but nothing a bit of teething gel cant sort out. She is in her big cot in her own room now. We kept her in with us until she was 6 months, only because we are to lazy to get out of bed and walk the teeny distance it is to her room. But believe me in the middle of the night that walk seems so tedious. She has been brilliant apart from the fact she wants to sleep on her tummy, which freaks me out. I have to get up at least 4 times a night to make sure she is ok!

I have also been very busy on the make up front and have had a few trials and shoots in the last week or show. I will eventually get round to putting a post up about them and show off my portfolio so far.

I ate so so so so much on holiday and could literally see the pounds clinging on to me. The extra weight just seems to stick round my belly - something that never happened before I had a baby. So I have re-joined WW and tomorrow is my first weight in day - haven't had a good week so not expecting much but even 1 pound would be fantastic! I am trying to collect lots of healthy dinner recipes to help me keep on track and also getting back into exercising again :(

So thats about it really. I know I always say this but I promise I will post more!!
