Where is the time going!

The last couple of months just seem to have flown by!

I also feel like I have been a bit of a scatter brain and not had any real routine. The healthy eating and exercise have gone out the window and those pounds have crept back on. So from this day forth there is going to be a few changes in my life namely to jump back on the exercise wagon and start doing a morning work out again as well as a good few runs a week. I am also going to start a new feature called "Wednesday Weigh-ins" and will discuss all things exercise and weight loss.

Money is another area of my life which seems to be chaotic at the moment. Because I am on maternity leave at the moment, my money comes in drips and drabs and this just causes problems with budgeting and spending. A few bloggers that I follow abstained from spending through "Frugal February" and one of my fav blogger - Allie in Wonderland - has decided to embark on Miserly May, so I think I will keep her company. This basically means no spending on unnecessary purchases. I am going to adapt it ever so slightly as we are going on a family holiday to Poole in a week so I will be taking a week off. I don't know about anyone else but reading blogs always seems to cost me money! I will check in on a Monday and let you know how that is going.

I need to get back in the blogging routine as well. The last few months I have been so busy setting up my freelance Make-Up business that I have had little time to read or write blogs and truth be told, I really miss it! I will be setting up a "professional blog" where I will talk about what is going on in that part of my life and discuss all things Make-Up. This blog will be more about what's going on my personal  and family life. I will post details about this when its up and running but if you want to check out my work so far then head over to my facebook page - remember and hit the like button!

And finally, a quick update on Rosie. She is now 5 1/2 months and is huge, like some sort of megababy! She is so long and is that cute chubby cherub stage. She can do al-sorts now - chuckle, roll over on to her tummy and babble away quite contently. Over the last few weeks we have been weaning which Rosie has taken too quite the thing. We began with baby rice, once a day, and at first she really didn't have a clue what to do. Every spoonful that went in her mouth came straight back out but we persevered and introduced her to some pureed sweet potato and carrot - which she loved. I try and cook all her meals and batch freeze them but also grab the odd pouch of ready made stuff - Ella's kitchen is great stuff! I just wish I could eat as healthy as Rosie does what with all that pure fruit and veg.

Anyway I am off for a cup of tea, some chocolate and a good old blog catch up.

Thursday 7 April 2011

Well its been a while...

... since I last posted!

I seem to have been so busy lately that I haven't had a chance. I have been working hard (long days and nights to set up my freelance Make-Up business - www.sophiealexismakeup.co.uk and Rosie has developed so much and no longer sleeps during the day, which means I am constantly entertaining her. Not that I mind that one tiny bit, she has developed such a brilliant personality.

So what's this about freelance Make-Uping? Well I have spent a lot of time working on my website and other promotional material as well as arranging test shoots. I have done two test shoots so far - the first was with the wonderful photographer Rory Quinn and beautiful model Rachael Lyon. And today I have been working with the rather lovely Gillian Gamble and a selection of fantastic models on a shoot to promote a charity tea company.

Apart from constantly being around such beautiful people, I absolutely love working on these shoots. Not only do I gain some brilliant shoots for my portfolio I also get to meet and work with amazing people.

I am going to keep this post short and sweet because I am completely shattered after todays fun and frolics but I am going to use this blog to chat about work I have done as well as other goings on in my life.
Apologies for the lack of pictures in this post, I shall add them tomorrow as they are on the other laptop (wow that makes me sound posh, I assure you I am really not).

Promise not to leave it as long next time.

PS Rosie is now 5 months, can roll over and is eating puree food now. She has grown so so much, gone are the teeny tiny baby days!
